Hi OTB.
All of the above with the exception of the research facilities. My next goal is to become certified to work with research facilities depending on project, perferbly propogation studies. This last portion might not ever happen because the process to become certified is very expensive ($3600.00 just for the application and first inspection).
If not I hope to be accepted through ISIS which is considerbly less ($1100.00). Years ago they were very interested in me as a member due the various different species I was working with but I was doing too much at the time to puesue it further. If I can't return to this route I'll return to free lance writting on the species I've been blessed to work with.
Actually this was my side business. I moved here to Ok to pursue my passion and to continue what I had started in Maryland. My main professional was that of a drafter/designer in the engineering field but burning the candle at both ends (I averaged 7 hrs sleep a week for years) took a serious toll on my health. I did good work there and I enjoyed it but I never felt I belonged there. Simply put, I am an animal person.
I feel very blessed doing this. I get to do good and I have met and worked with some wonderful people like Wayne Newton (he has one of my babies). Jack Hanna has used some of my animals in his programs as has Jarod Miller (he has a TV program with Disney).
I'll never be famous doing this but it's still exciting to know my animals are making a difference through education programs.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm way into rambling mode. Please excuse me I haven't slept yet and I'm a bit slap happy.
Baby made it through the first 24 hours with me so only 36 more before I feel it's out of the danger zone.
