| I received a black feather today. It was in the same place as the white one I was given in November. I have read differing definitions. One said that it was up to my own interpretation as to what it means. I think it's a good thing. I knew immediately it was meant for me. I felt protected and loved. Another definition said that a black feather was good - it means that I am spiritually aware and my soul guide is near.
I also received a marble another time - it was right next to my computer chair where I do my meditating and research. The thing about the marble is that I have 2 vases of them way up on top of my china cabinet. No one would touch them - they have not been moved in years. It had been many months since I rinsed them. I didn't drop any. Again, it felt like a really good thing.

It is a gift to let you know that someone close to you perhaps even as a child is letting you know they are there and watching over you. I have received feathers of different colors as well as coins, flower petals. Think back over your life and see if it has meaning to you even when you were a child. sc

| I am unclear if receiving a feather really has anything to with birds, though. Maybe the feather means something else entirely.
The only thing I can remember that has anything to do with black birds is when I was really small(5ish). My family always went to a park - I don't remember if it is a state park or city park, but anyway, we had picnics. There were crows cawing all the time. There was a bridge over a large stream that was usually flooded enough to wade in. The big thing for my sister and I was to wade in the water and when a car drove through it would wash over us. We thought that was wonderful. It is a good memory. So, it could be my Dad who gave me the feather. It could even be something from a previous lifetime. Hmmm.....
I just looked it up - White Pines is a state park not too far from the Chicago area where we lived.

| im not entirely sure of the exact meaning but i agree sometimes spirits will give gifts like that, particuliarly the faefolk...of course the faefolk are known just as much for disappearing things as a joke as they are for giving them. if it is a fae, you do not want to offend it by rejecting the gift. offended fae can sometimes react in an upset manner. i imagine its possible an entity could also knowingly give an onject with negative energy on it too but if youre not sensing that and no bad things are happening youre prolly ok. if i find out more ill let you know. | |

| I don't know much about nature and elemental spirits, I need to research. I do know that the Irish and Scandinavians take these guys very seriously. They don't build in known wraiths and just stay out of the wraiths all together.
I have the feathers in a box I bought that has feathers and stones on it. The stones, I think, are probably the ones like the Druid priests carried that earned them the name adders. These stones resembled the stuff the snakes vomited up. So, in actuality, St. Patrick converted the Pagans, and didn't really get rid of the snakes. Anyway........ I know this was another gift and I am grateful they think I'm worthy! LOL

| No. I had never thought of that at all. It never occurred to me that the feathers could be from that realm. But, with my Irish heritage and the one past life I know about, it makes sense.
It would have to be something non food because of my dogs. I couldn't put it down in front of the door - it'd be gone in a split second! LOL.
Really, I just think about the love and caring I feel, and that they think I am a good person. It has been too hectic lately to even meditate, so I haven't found out anything. I feel someone here most of the time, though. I will research fairies and fae folk and go from there. The subject is most fascinating to me. Thanks, Ussula.

| I think you have mentioned feathers before as a gift or it may have been someone else. I think it is someone who wants very much to let you know they are there, I don't think the color has any bearing on the message.
Sometimes spiirts just as us get frustrated when they cannot get our attention, I think this is an older female you have not thought of in a long time and wants very much to be noticed by you. SC

SC I got a white one and a marble a few months ago. I have both of the feathers in a box. I am sure my spirits are frustrated! Between my Mom, Micheal, and everyday stuff, there is little time just for me. I do think it is a spirit, I feel someone here most of the time. SC, do you think females leave more gifts for us than males, or is it a feeling you have? Now I'm really curious! If I try too hard to communicate it just doesn't happen. I do have lots of deceased female family members on both sides of the family. Just as I was typing this, a name popped into my head. She was my Grandfather's cousin. She has been gone at least 40 years. Hmmm.... Thank you SC.
