Astrology 101

Hi OTB here an explaination of the Zodiac and the chart with planets. I'll use mine as an example. If anyone is interested I would be happy to help you set up your chart.

Start with your Sun sign Mine is Scorpio, you get that from your birthdate
next is your Ascendant sign you use your birthdate, birthtime, and where you were born.

Once you know your Ascendant Sign you can set your signs and planet in there houses.The zodiac chart looks like a pie cut into 12 pieces, each piece is a house where a sign lives.

My ascendant is Scorpio so my first house is Scorpio, most times your Sun and ascendant are different.

By using a chart you will be able to find out what houses your planets sit in.

Each house rules a different part of your life. Your Sun sign will always be found inthe first house. The sun has great influence on your person and life it is the house of Self

Second House is Money, Third is communication, fourth Home life, fifth Creativity and Sex, sixth Health and service, seventh is Marriagr and Partnerships, eighth Death and Regeneration, ninth Mental Exploration and long distance travel, tenth public standing and career, eleventh House of friends hopes and wishes, and the tweflth is House of Secrets and Sorrows/ Self undoing.

Thank you for going to so much trouble, Sharra. I appreciate it. I understand a litlle bit about it - it was a passing interest when I was a teen, but then life got in the way. I have so much to learn. But that's a good thing - learning is wonderful!! I really need to get out more!! LOL

Oooo... Sharra, I would love that! If you have time, though. Don't "make a special trip"! I have always been interested in this - I just never took the time to explore it. When you have a kid who is 10 kids all rolled up into one, fun and interesting takes a back seat. Thank you so much!!

Hi Wendy Wow if that's your chart you got a little bit if everything, I just dabble some of what's on there I don't recognize, can you explain all that I am looking at?For what I can do this is enough I believe it says your Ascedant is virgo, that's what I will use to set your houses and planets.


OTB I need birthdate , birthtime, If you born during the time change for the summer (it throws things off by 1 hour), and where you were born

Thanks on the explanation of the astrology. I never even knew it went into the houses. Shows how little I have learned about it

It will probably take a team of experts to figure out my chart, no worries.

Could you help me with mine? I've always been curious about it. I remember being told once a long time ago that I was Scorpio and my "sub-sign" was scorpio. Does that mean the Ascendant, and is it true? That would be cool if it really is and I'm talking to someone of the same.
